一、火供之原理和巨大威力
按照密法,有形的供养中,火供为第一殊胜之法,是真正意义上可以逆天改命,令人现世大富大贵,乃至延长国祚之无上大法。
在密宗的《建立曼荼罗护摩仪轨》中,更是说火供“能回天地心,功用无涯际”,能扭转天地乾坤,功用无边无量,极其不可思议。
从多罗那他尊者所著的《印度佛教史》,可以找到几个令人震惊的护摩大验案例:
1、拯救将亡之国家
他(觉智足大阿阇梨)对达摩波罗王说:“在你孙子的时代,国家有毁灭的征兆。若是作大护摩仪式,可以长久存在,教法也要兴盛。”
国王也就呈献了价值九十万二千银多拉的资具,以阿阇梨为主的众多持金刚举行护摩多年。
阿阇梨说:“你的后代将要出现十二代国王,尤其是有五代子嗣制服多国,弘扬教法。”这样的授记如言实现,广传详于他处。
倾莲池:国家之兴亡,乃众生之大共业,想扭转非常不容易,但是通过国主发起,请众高僧修火供,可以将准备于第三代亡国的国家,延长到了十二代。
这就是密法的殊胜、不共之处。像梁武帝、李后主等皆是接触显宗教法为主的国君,若是能接触密法,并出资请成就者、密宗阿阇梨,密集为国家修护国大火供,或许历史将改写。
一般这类共业,国主是核心人物,福德第一,若国主作为功德主发起,则有力挽狂澜之效果。
2、火供后亲见本尊获悉地
婆罗流支的传记如下:他是虔信佛教勤修六种事业的婆罗门,圣者龙村作那烂陀寺的亲教师时成为知交,住在摩揭陀东方罗罗之地,他念诵观世音真言十二年,最后由于将值四十万黄金的资具供护摩,观世音现身问:“你希求什么?”
答:“我希求以八大成就利益有情,请以摩诃迦罗供我役使。”
观世音依所求给予。此后一切明咒随所愿求而得成就,以丸等八种成就各以千数利益有情。得悉地者八千人奉他为师,一切学问不学而知。
3、修法无验相,修火供获得成就
这样大德解脱军修持阿逸多依估(弥勒菩萨),十年之间没有象征。向月称阿阇梨请问方法,教以行护摩净治罪障,据说供献一百二十万烧灌,以后在灶内见到圣容。
倾莲池:念诵弥勒心咒十年无成就验相,月称论师教他修护摩先灭罪,最后修了120万遍火供,亲见弥勒菩萨,获得成就。
4、修护摩法降伏恶龙
东方婆连陀罗所属婆伽罗有龙名毗耆梨奈对于内道大作损害,也以护摩消灭,龙所住的湖也立即干涸,消灭那些仇恨佛教的外道与大食等凡几千人,调伏凶恶的非人约五百,主要以降伏法利益众生,最后化虹身而去。
密法有很多殊胜不共之处,尤其以迅速成办悉地著称。
对于求现世富贵尊位,通过显宗的方法,如常规的供养布施,可能你要等下辈子或者多生多世之后。但是在众多密续中,佛菩萨无数次提到一个方法,可以将这个时间长无限缩短,有的可能是一个月,有的是三个月,有的是半年一年,或者几年。
下面,引用密续的金刚语:
金刚智译《佛说七俱胝佛母准提大明陀罗尼经》:
“若求富饶,以粳米油麻置酥酪中手把少许,发愿念诵,七遍掷着火中烧之,随力七日乃至七七日。”
又据莲花部心咒续:
1、满一切愿
“又杉摩也木如上,以波罗娑果子和三甜,日三时准上,凡一月,随所求愿皆悉圆满。”
2、得庄园
“又秣多木如上,以石榴菓子,日三时和三甜,准上凡一月,得二十所田园。”
“又波勒乞沙木如上,以乌昙波罗木菓子和三甜,日三时准上凡一月,得名庄一百八所。”
平常人买房尚且难,而通过火供,可以得庄园田园很多所,护摩法之威猛,可见一斑。可以在是求愿最强劲的无上大法之一。
3、得大官位
“又波罗赊木如上,青莲花和三甜,日二千五百凡三月,得辅相之位。”
又以余地迦花万枚叶,乃至七日,得大官位亲附国王。”
此护摩之速度,是远胜显宗之法,比如显宗,你只能常规供养布施等,然后求愿。而密法,可以迅速成办大愿。
如果袁了凡学会准提火供法,恐怕命运会进一步改写。
4、大富
又波罗赊木如上,以粳米赤小豆羹黄黍米谷大麦三甜相和,日时准上,得珍宝无数无尽。
5、离重病
又苾利婆木如上,以白芥子和酥,日三时准上凡三七日,即得身与门徒远离重病。
又微那地迦多迦木如上,以回香草和酥蜜,准上时数凡七日,离一切恶障难消灭。
可以确定地是,通过火供之法,其积累福报之速度和效果,远胜于单纯念诵。如上面列举的印度成就者的故事,他们念修本尊十年而无悉地验相,通过修护摩火供而成就悉地。
佛在密续中,也说到护摩令天神护法欢喜,速满所愿。

I. The Principle and Tremendous Power of Fire Offering
According to esoteric teachings, among tangible offerings, the fire offering stands as the foremost supreme practice. It is a truly supreme method capable of reversing fate and altering destiny, enabling one to attain great wealth and honor in this lifetime, and even prolong the reign of a nation.
The Tantric text Establishing the Mandala Homā Ritual further states that fire offerings “can turn the hearts of heaven and earth, their efficacy boundless,” capable of reversing cosmic forces with immeasurable, inconceivably profound effects.
Several astonishing case studies of homā’s efficacy can be found in Dorje Natha’s History of Indian Buddhism:
1. Saving a Nation from Collapse
He (the Great Acharya Jñānagarbha) told King Dharmapāla: “In your grandson’s era, signs of national ruin will appear. Performing a great homa ritual will ensure enduring existence and the flourishing of the Dharma.”
The king then offered ritual implements valued at 902,000 silver doras. For many years, numerous vajra-holders led by the Acharya performed the homa.
The Acharya declared: Twelve generations of kings shall descend from your line, with five successive rulers subduing many lands and propagating the Dharma.” This prophecy unfolded exactly as foretold, its full account widely recorded elsewhere.
Qing Lianchi: A nation’s rise and fall stems from the collective karma of its people. Reversing this course is exceedingly difficult. Yet through the sovereign’s initiative—inviting eminent monks to perform fire offerings—a kingdom destined to perish in its third generation was extended to endure twelve.
This exemplifies the unique excellence of esoteric teachings. Rulers like Emperor Wu of Liang and Emperor Houzhu of Li, who primarily engaged with exoteric Buddhist teachings, might have altered history had they encountered esoteric practices. Had they commissioned accomplished masters and esoteric Acharyas to perform intensive national fire offerings, history could have been rewritten.
In such collective karmic situations, the sovereign is pivotal—possessing foremost merit. When the ruler initiates such offerings as the principal benefactor, it can powerfully avert disaster.
2. Post-Fire Offering: Direct Vision of the Deity and Realization of the Ground
The biography of Brahmāpudya is as follows: He was a Brahmin who devoutly practiced Buddhism and diligently cultivated the six kinds of activities. He became a close friend of the sage Dharmapāla when the latter served as the principal teacher at Nālandā Monastery. Residing in the land of Rāva in eastern Magadha, he recited the mantra of Avalokiteśvara for twelve years. Finally, when he offered ritual implements worth four hundred thousand pieces of gold for the homa, Avalokiteśvara manifested and asked: What do you desire?”
He replied, “I wish to benefit sentient beings through the Eight Great Accomplishments. Please grant me Mahakala to serve me.”
Avalokiteshvara granted his request. Thereafter, all mantras achieved their desired effects, and he benefited sentient beings through thousands of instances of each of the Eight Accomplishments, such as the accomplishment of pills. Eight thousand beings who attained siddhi revered him as their teacher, and he knew all learning without study.
3. No Signs of Progress in Practice, Yet Fire Offering Yields Achievement
The great master Liberation Army practiced Aiyiduo Yigu (Bodhisattva Maitreya) for ten years without any signs of progress. He sought guidance from Acharya Candrakirti, who instructed him to perform homa to purify karmic obstacles. After offering one million two hundred thousand fire offerings, he finally beheld the holy form within the fire pit.
Qing Lianchi: After ten years of reciting Maitreya’s heart mantra without signs of accomplishment, Master Chandrakirti instructed him to first purify sins through homa. After performing 1.2 million fire offerings, he personally saw Maitreya Bodhisattva and attained realization.
4. Subduing Evil Dragons Through Homa Practice
In the eastern region of Borandara, a dragon named Vīṅkīṇa belonging to the Bhāgaras caused great harm to the inner path. It was also subdued through homa. The lake where the dragon resided immediately dried up. Thousands of non-Buddhist enemies and Great Eaters were eliminated, and about five hundred fierce non-humans were subdued. Primarily benefiting sentient beings through subjugation methods, it finally departed in a rainbow body.
Esoteric practices possess many unique and sublime qualities, particularly renowned for swiftly accomplishing siddhis.
For those seeking present-life wealth, honor, and high status, conventional methods like ordinary offerings and charity through exoteric teachings may require waiting until the next life or even multiple lifetimes. Yet among the myriad tantras, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas repeatedly mention a method that can infinitely shorten this timeframe—some achieve it in a month, others in three months, half a year, a year, or several years.
Below, we quote the Vajra Words from the Tantras:
Translated by Vajracchedika: The Buddha Speaks the Seven-Kutiyas Mother Cundi Great Brightness Dharani Sutra:
“If seeking wealth, place rice, sesame, and ghee in butter, take a small handful, make a vow while reciting seven times, then cast it into the fire to burn. Do this for seven days or even forty-nine days according to your ability.”
Additionally, according to the Lotus Division Heart Mantra Sutra:
1. Fulfillment of All Wishes
“Again, with Samaya wood as above, mix with three sweets and the fruit of the Palasa tree. Recite three times daily as above for one month. All desired wishes shall be fulfilled.”
2. Acquisition of Estates
“Again, with Matta wood as above, mix with pomegranate fruit and three sweets. Recite three times daily as above for one month. One shall obtain twenty estates.”
“Again, recite the mantra as above, offering utpala fruit mixed with three sweets three times daily for one month. One shall obtain one hundred and eight renowned estates.”
For ordinary people, acquiring even a single house is difficult. Yet through fire offerings, one can obtain numerous estates and fields. The formidable power of the homa practice is thus evident. One may seek…
